THE PROFESSIONAL GROUP

Membership Procedures

The Professional Group (TPG) exists to provide women of diverse professions with opportunities for building relationships and networks of personal and business associations through informative monthly presentations, professional development programs, educational and social activities.

Once a prospective member has attended her first meeting, she is added to the newsletter mailing list for several months.  The newsletter contains information about upcoming meetings and reservation instructions. The prospective member may continue to attend as a guest until she qualifies to apply for membership.

To become a member of The Professional Group, a person must …

1.  Attend three breakfast meetings as a member-sponsored guest within a 6-month period

2.  Be participating in either a corporate or entrepreneurial profession

3.  Submit a completed application for membership with yearly dues and a processing fee to Vice President/Guests and New   Members as follows:
o       January – April                   $75 dues + $25 processing fee
o       May – August                     $50 dues + $25 processing fee
o       September – December      $25 dues + $25 processing fee.

4.  Have attained age 25*

* Associate membership is open to employed women between the ages of 21 - 25.  All rights of membership, with the exception of voting, are offered with annual dues being equal to 5/6th of full member dues.An application for membership will be provided when a prospective member registers at her third breakfast meeting.  Her application must be signed by her sponsor and accompanied by a letter for recommendation from her sponsor.  The Board, which meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, will review the application and notify the prospective member via phone or e-mail concerning the status of her application.  New members are encouraged to be drafted by one or more committees.  This is an excellent – and rewarding – way to get involved and develop relationships.

New members should direct questions to their sponsors.  Questions concerning online registration procedures and use of the online directory can be found on the FAQ link of the web page.
